New this year is our alpaca kids collection.  These adorable mittens are sumptuously soft. Handmade by women in a fair trade cooperative in Peru, they are made of 100% baby alpaca - one of the world's most luxurious fibers.  

Considered by many a higher quality material than cashmere, alpaca is one of the world’s most valuable natural fibers. Just ask any Incan Emperor why only the royal families were allowed to wear it!  It is luxuriously soft (not at all itchy!), hypoallergenic, breathable, warm, lightweight and durable.  Best of all, it is a natural, eco-friendly fiber and the artisans are paid fair wages.

ABOUT THE ARTISANS

Our alpaca hats and gloves are handmade by talented female artisans fair trade cooperatives in the highlands of Peru.  The women are expert knitters and are paid excellent wages.  They have seen their lives greatly improved through fair trade practices.
